Brian Button CEO
A serial entrepreneur with a depth of executive management experience at Bay Area start-ups, Brian has worked his way through the ranks of many Silicon Valley start-ups. He served as CEO of Alvesta, where he managed the telecom subsystems start-up through a challenging market environment. Brian was Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Proxim and led a 75-person team who launched a disruptive wireless networking technology for the home consumer market and fueled a double-digit growth in revenue. He's launched new products, built strong brands, and learned much on his way up the corporate ladder. Brian earned a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley. And, not surprisingly, he's a stationary bike enthusiast.
His preferred Tour is Thunderball – 10.6 miles amid the fun of amusement park rides and balloon animals.
Mark Urlage VP OF SALES
With 22 years in the fitness industry and a 12-year tenure at Nautilus, Inc., where he held key executive positions and consistently produced a double-digit growth in sales, you could say sales and fitness are in Mark's blood. As Vice President of Commercial Sales, he managed $85 million in revenue by direct sales, government sales and dealer distribution throughout the US, Canada and South America. As national Sales Director, he was responsible for all domestic sales of the company's commercial strength and cardio products and successfully integrated sales personnel/distribution through the acquisitions of the Stairmaster and Schwinn Fitness brands. Mark was named Sales Manager of the Year for four consecutive years, producing unparalleled results in the country's Northeast Region. Running, weights, competitive softball and golf are some his favorite fitness activities.
Billy Goat Falls, with its beautiful ski lifts, chalets and snowy mountain scenery, is Mark's ride of choice.
Dave Moroney VP OF FINANCE
With over twenty years of experience in high-technology finance, Dave's worked in organizations ranging from start-ups to multi-billion dollar multinational companies. His areas of expertise include financial system implementation and operations, planning and analysis. He recently served as the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis at Virage Logic Corporation and Southwall Corporation. Dave's also held controller positions at Alvesta Corporation, Data Broadcasting Corporation, Symbio Internet Services, Inc. and GlobalCenter. Dave received a BS in Business Administration from the University of Tulsa and a Masters of International Management from Thunderbird, the Garvin School of International Management.
As the Company's financial guru, it's only fitting that Dave's favorite ride is Ironhorse Rush – a model railroad environment that makes him think of the Gold Rush.
John Fisher VP OF SYSTEMS ENGINEERING
An avid road cyclist and inventor, John's inspiration led to the Expresso's premier product line. He brings comprehensive experience in all aspects of engineering research and development to Expresso, particularly in directing new product development from definition through to production. Prior to Expresso, John served as VP of Engineering at Alvesta, where he oversaw the development of the Company's ground-breaking fiber-optic products. He also directed the Advanced Technology Group at At Proxim, Inc., driving the analysis, definition, launch and management of new technologies. John's held management and engineering roles at KOR Electronics, Design Engineering Laboratories and Hughes Aircraft Company. He earned his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
The most experienced cyclist on the team, John rides Thunderball and relishes its difficulty and miles of uphill terrain.
Ian McGee VP OF SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
A veteran of the entertainment software industry, Ian directs software development for Expresso. Prior to that, he worked as Director of Production for international developer AndNow LCC, where he was responsible for all design and production management of console and PC games. He also served as Executive Producer for Third Party Development at Sculptured Software, Inc., managing the development of a dozen external titles. Ian helped launch the legendary Playstation and spearheaded internal development for the platform, and has held management positions at Malibu Interactive and Software Toolworks. He holds a BS in Computer Science from Chico State University.
Ian's ride is Vindicator. It's a 12.2 mile tour through the countryside, but a couple of extreme climbs ensure it's no walk in the park.
